This huge shift allows software engineers to step away from their traditional computer setups and handle complex programming tasks entirely from a mobile device.
Developers can launch and review coding tasks remotely
The new iOS app fundamentally changes how programmers work. Traditionally, developers had to stay glued to a laptop to run tests or monitor progress. Cursor removes that limitation by letting users launch autonomous artificial intelligence agents directly in the cloud. You can open the app, pick a code repository, and give the agent instructions using voice commands or simple text.
Once an agent starts working, it handles the heavy lifting in an isolated virtual environment. You do not need to keep the app open to make sure it finishes the job. The system takes advantage of Live Activities on the lock screen to provide real-time updates. When the agent finishes writing code or finding a bug, the app sends a push notification to let you know it needs a review.
The mobile app keeps projects moving without an open laptop
For developers who prefer running tasks on a local machine, Cursor includes a new remote control feature. This tool connects your iPhone directly to the active session on your desktop. You can step out for lunch, leave your computer running, and continue guiding the software from your phone.
The application also lets you handle quick visual feedback. If you spot a design issue online, you can take a screenshot, add some quick notes, and send it to the AI agent to start fixing the interface.
