Hello Games is bringing the massive space universe of No Man’s Sky to mobile screens. The sci-fi exploration game will launch on the iPhone and iPad on October 28. After ten years on consoles and a recent release for Mac, players can finally visit endless planets, build bases, and fly custom ships directly from their portable devices. You can start playing the first section for free, which lets you see how it runs before you buy the full game.
Players get the full universe without multiplayer on day one
When a big game moves to mobile, developers usually drop the graphics quality or remove content. That is not what is happening here. You get the same giant universe that players already enjoy on consoles and computers. Recent content drops like the Cosmos update and the 2025 Voyagers expansion are already included. You can explore strange new planets, build outposts, and fly custom starships just like you would on a TV.
However, the development team made a few small changes based on player feedback from the Nintendo Switch version. You will not find multiplayer modes or planetary settlements available on launch day. Hello Games noted that settlements will need newer hardware, specifically the iPhone 15 Pro, when they do arrive. For now, the focus is entirely on your solo journey through space.

The game requires minimal storage and supports physical game controllers
You might assume a game with endless solar systems would eat up all your phone storage. Surprisingly, the developers kept the installation size under five gigabytes. That is a huge relief for anyone who hates deleting photos just to try a new release from the App Store.
The game introduces new touch controls built specifically for mobile screens. If you dislike tapping on glass, you have plenty of other options. You can connect a physical gamepad to your Apple device. Tablet users can even play with a mouse and keyboard. You also have the option to cast the game to your television for a larger view.
Preorders are live right now ahead of the late October release. The game is free to try at launch, letting you explore the start of the adventure without spending money. Unlocking the full journey costs twenty dollars. If you are ready to jump into space, you can reserve your copy directly on the official game page.
