Gary Oldman returns as Lamb, while the story will draw from Mick Herron’s Bad Actors. Apple has not announced a release date, full cast list or episode schedule, so those details remain open even though production has a clear creative team.

Apple’s official Season 7 announcement says Lamb and the Slow Horses must find and neutralize a mole at the heart of the British government before that person can bring down the state. It is a direct premise that moves the danger beyond Slough House and into the center of political power.

The season adapts Bad Actors, the eighth main novel in Herron’s Slough House sequence. The publisher describes a missing government adviser, a scandal inside MI5 and questions surrounding Diana Taverner. The television adaptation may change or combine those elements, so the official mole premise remains the safest guide.
Ben Vanstone is adapting and executive producing the season, with Robert McKillop set to direct. Apple also lists Oldman among the executive producers. A complete returning cast has not been published, making it too early to assume every current agent survives long enough to participate.
When could Season 7 arrive?
Apple has not set a premiere date. Season 6 begins on September 16, 2026 and runs weekly through October 21, so Season 7 will follow sometime after that completed run. Any narrower window remains speculation until Apple issues a first look or trailer.
The early order does show Apple’s confidence in the series and gives the production team room to plan beyond the current mission. It does not establish that Season 7 has completed filming or entered post-production, because Apple’s announcement does not provide those milestones. A trailer, first-look gallery or dated press release will be the dependable signal that the next launch is approaching.
