Apple’s official Season 2 description says a student’s body pulls the Azules into an investigation reaching back to 1968. A person connected to that violent history is then found dead, bringing the case directly to the police department. Apple describes the unknown figure as delivering justice to the police’s door.
Episode 2 confirms that an unexpected clue connects the first victim with a second and starts a theory about targeted attacks. Episode 3 adds that one of the surviving student activists is hiding something. Neither clue proves that an activist is the killer, but both show why the past matters to the selection of victims.
Episode 4 creates the strongest warning against a simple answer. Apple’s synopsis says detectives believe they know who is killing the dirty cops, while the Azules remain unconvinced. The department may have found the wrong person, an incomplete explanation, or only one participant in a wider plan.
Episode 5 then introduces another disappearance and spreads fear through the station. That escalation suggests the danger is still active, but Apple does not confirm that the same killer is responsible for every event. Lozano’s disappearance could be connected to the murders, internal corruption, or an attempt to stop the investigation.
The motive and the identity must therefore be kept separate until the series connects them.

When will the real killer be revealed?
Apple has not announced which episode reveals the culprit. Season 2 has eight episodes and ends on September 30, leaving three chapters after Episode 5 to connect the historical motive, the corrupt officers and the department’s missing detective.
