Sid arrived at Slough House as a far more capable agent than many of her colleagues. Apple’s official series page confirms that River and Sid worked together in Episode 2 before a gunshot had serious consequences. The Season 1 finale later said Roddy Ho made a shocking discovery about Sid, leaving her status deliberately uncertain.
For several seasons, the show did not give viewers a complete account of her location or recovery. Apple’s new publicity finally confirms that she survived and returns to the story, but its press release does not reveal who protected her, whether she remained connected to MI5 or why River did not know the truth.
