Apple’s official Season 2 announcement confirms a 10-episode run from August 28 through October 30. It identifies Crouch as showrunner and confirms the return of Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel.

Apple’s announcement does not mention Season 3. However, Crouch told GamesRadar that the show has always been considered a three-season story. He also made clear that finishing that story depends on Apple and the audience.
The distinction matters because a planned arc does not guarantee another season. Streaming services usually consider audience interest, completion rates, production costs and the availability of the cast before making a renewal decision. Apple does not publish all of those figures for individual shows, so any claim that Season 3 is certain would go beyond the available evidence.
A third season would give the writers room to complete the story Crouch has described. Season 2 has already moved beyond the events of his novel, following the Dessens in a new world while expanding Amanda, Ryan, Leighton and Blair’s roles. The ongoing season therefore has no second novel that can confirm where the plot will finish.
The remaining Season 2 episodes may also clarify whether the current conflicts are designed to end this year or carry directly into the proposed final chapter. Apple has not described the October finale as a series finale.
