Amazon has the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Max for $3,499. Its list price is $4,099, so you save $600. That’s the biggest cut we’ve seen on this model, and Amazon.com sells and ships it.
We checked every price and ship date below on Amazon on October 30, 2026. The space black model is $3,499. The silver one is $3,799.99, which is still $299 off. The catch is shipping. Space black won’t arrive until November 16 at the earliest, while silver ships November 3, but Amazon had only one left.
Amazon’s $3,499 price beats the cheapest touchscreen M5 Max MacBook Pro by $1,000
Apple’s touchscreen MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display uses the same M5 Max chip, and the 14-inch M5 Max version starts at $4,499. This deal gets you the same 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU for $1,000 less. You give up the OLED touchscreen, the Dynamic Island and the lighter body. You keep the speed.

What you get in the 14-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro for $3,499
Apple launched this MacBook Pro in March and gave M5 Max 2TB of storage as standard. Here’s what’s inside the model on sale, from Apple’s spec sheet:
- M5 Max with an 18-core CPU (6 super cores and 12 performance cores) and a 32-core GPU
- 36GB of unified memory at 460GB/s and a 2TB SSD
- 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with 1000 nits SDR and 1600 nits peak HDR
- Three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC slot, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack
- Support for up to four external displays
- Up to 20 hours of video streaming, by Apple’s numbers, and a 96W charger in the box
Apple says the new SSD reads and writes up to 2x faster than the last generation, at up to 14.5GB/s. If you move 8K footage or big model files around, you’ll feel that every day.
The 32-core M5 Max is locked to 36GB, so skip it if you run big local AI models
You can’t add memory to this chip. Apple only offers 48GB, 64GB or 128GB with the 40-core GPU version of M5 Max. So if you load large language models in LM Studio or work with huge 3D scenes, 36GB will hold you back. Look at the 40-core 16-inch model instead.
For video editing, music production, photo work and app development, 36GB is plenty. You also get 460GB/s of memory bandwidth, 50 percent more than M5 Pro’s 307GB/s, which helps with heavy GPU work.
Buy the space black model if you can wait until mid November, or pay $300 more for silver now
Space black at $3,499 is the deal. If you need a laptop next week, silver at $3,799.99 still saves you $299 and ships November 3. Just move fast, since Amazon showed one unit left.
Amazon offers AppleCare+ for $389 at checkout, or $12.99 a month. Returns are free for 15 days. Make sure the listing says M5 Max with the 32-core GPU, 36GB and 2TB before you check out, because Amazon groups every configuration on one page. Want more options?
