Runners using an Apple device can now match their music to their workout pace. The streaming service Spotify just launched a brand new audio tool designed to help you hit your fitness goals. This personalized feature acts like a built-in coach, mixing your favorite tunes with your physical speed. The platform built this update to keep your momentum going from start to finish.
Create a custom playlist that matches your speed and style
The new Running Mode lives inside the Fitness hub of the app. Right now, it is only available to Premium subscribers using an iPhone in a few countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Once you open the tab, you can pick from 25 different presets. You can also manually adjust the settings to fit your specific plans for the day.

Runners can tell the app whether they want to do intervals, steady jogs, or pyramid training. You pick your desired duration, lock in the beats per minute, and choose the genre of music you want to hear. The platform will then build a custom playlist with smooth transitions between songs. It even offers optional English voice prompts to keep you motivated on the trail.
The platform expands its health tools after teaming with Peloton
Longtime fans might remember that the streaming service offered a similar tempo tracking tool years ago before retiring it in 2018. Bringing this idea back is part of a much bigger push into the health space. Earlier this year, the service partnered with a major fitness brand to bring guided workout classes directly to its Premium members.
Finding the right playlist can make or break a tough run. By giving you control over the tempo and the vibe, this update takes the guesswork out of your workout prep. Just tie your shoes, tap play, and let the music push you across the finish line.
