Ekster Releases Leather MagSafe Wallet for iPhone 12

I reviewed an Ekster wallet a couple years ago and I thought it was a good, high quality wallet. I still have it and use it daily. Today the company informed me of its latest release: a leather MagSafe wallet for the iPhone 12. It has room for at least three cards and cash and is thinner than Apple’s wallet (3mm) at just 1mm. It’s also more affordable at US$33. The leather is suitability-sourced and features the same thumb slot so you can easily access your cards.

Ansix Designs Launches Aluminum MagSafe Wallet for iPhone 12

Ansix Designs has launched the Fantom C wallet on Kickstarter. It’s a MagSafe wallet designed for the iPhone 12 with an aluminum body and ceramic coated carbon fiber finish. It’s a thick wallet at 8mm; while the iPhone 12 is 7.4mm. But if you’re looking for a rugged wallet to hold your cards, maybe this is right for you. It has RFID/NFC protection and can hold 3-5 cards. There are two price tiers: an early bird special (right now there six left) for CA$89 that ships in May, and the regular tier for CA$95 that ships in June.

MagSafe Fast Charging Won’t Damage Your iPhone 12 Battery

With the right charging brick, Apple’s MagSafe charging pad can quickly charge your iPhone 12 at an estimated 50% battery in 30 minutes. Although it was written last year, Clifford Colby’s article is a helpful investigation into fast charging. The short answer is that fast charging won’t damage your iPhone’s battery.

Damage is rare if everything’s well-managed inside. A battery’s management system closely monitors the two charge phases and drops the charging speed during the second phase to give the battery time to absorb the charge and avoid issues, which is why it can take 10 minutes to get those last few percentage points.
