The iPhone 18 Pro battery lasts up to 36 hours of video playback and the iPhone 18 Pro Max up to 45 hours, according to Apple. Apple also describes the Pro Max figure as up to 30 hours of use on a full charge, its first attempt at putting a mixed-use number on an iPhone.
Both ratings apply to the eSIM-only models sold in the US and 11 other markets. Apple has not published separate figures for versions with a physical SIM tray, so buyers in the UK, India or Australia should treat the numbers as a ceiling. Apple says the smaller iPhone 18 Pro now roughly matches last year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is the clearest way to picture the gain. Apple has not published the battery capacity in milliamp-hours or watt-hours for either phone.

How fast does the iPhone 18 Pro charge?
Apple quotes 50 percent in about 15 minutes on a wired charger and 50 percent in about 30 minutes wirelessly. Five minutes on a cable gives the Pro Max about seven hours of video playback, by Apple’s numbers.

Apple has not said which power adapter it used for the 15-minute figure. Our pre-event price roundup noted that accessories were unlikely to change the pricing picture, and that holds.
Why the battery lasts longer this year
Apple credits the A20 Pro, its first 2-nanometer chip, and the C2 modem, which uses 15 percent less energy than the C1X. A next-generation vapor chamber attached directly to the chip is claimed to deliver about three times the cooling of the prior design, which helps the phone hold performance without draining faster.
Apple has not published a talk-time or audio-playback rating for either model, and it has not said how the 30-hour Pro Max figure was measured. Pre-orders open Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. PT, with delivery from Friday, September 18.
