That is not a long instalment plan: six of those payments come to ₹2,92,902, which is ₹6,998 below the list price, so the number you see already has a cashback deduction folded in and is spread over six months.
That arithmetic, run on Apple India’s published figures, is the single most useful thing to understand before pre-orders open on October 16, because it explains why the monthly number for a foldable looks so large next to the ones quoted in the US and the UK.

The same pattern holds on iPhone 18 Pro, where Apple’s ₹26,316 monthly figure across six payments comes to ₹7,004 below the ₹1,64,900 list price. In both cases the deduction lines up with the ₹7,000 iPhone launch cashback that has been reported, not with the larger ceiling on Apple’s ways-to-buy page.
The ₹15,000 figure is store-wide, not an iPhone Duo discount
Apple India publishes up to ₹15,000 in instant cashback as the ceiling of its card programme across the whole store, with qualifying American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards. It is not a figure attached to any single product.
The iPhone-specific figure that has been reported is ₹7,000, and Apple’s own displayed Duo monthly numbers are consistent with ₹7,000 rather than ₹15,000. Do not budget for ₹15,000 off a foldable iPhone. Apple India has published no Duo-specific cashback figure at all.
Why the Indian monthly number looks so high
No Cost EMI in India runs over 3 or 6 months. That is the shortest interest-free term Apple offers in any of the major markets, so the same phone produces a much larger monthly payment than it does elsewhere.

A 3-month tenure roughly doubles the Indian monthly figure. The total paid does not change, which is the point of No Cost EMI, but the cash flow is very different from the 24-month plan Apple quotes in the US.
The catches worth reading before October 16
- The cashback needs a qualifying American Express, Axis Bank or ICICI Bank card used at checkout. Other cards may still support No Cost EMI, but the cashback is card-specific.
- Apple India states a minimum transaction of ₹10,001 and a limit of two orders per rolling 90-day period.
- The offers are not available to Business customers and cannot be combined with Education or Corporate Employee Purchase Plan pricing.
- Apple India states the terms may be revised or withdrawn at any time without prior notice, so the figures showing today are not a commitment for October 16.
- The ₹62,000 exchange figure is an upper limit for an eligible smartphone in good condition, not the sum your phone attracts. iPhone trade-in is available online and in store.
What has not been confirmed
Apple India has not published a cashback figure specific to iPhone Duo, a list of eligible card variants, an AppleCare+ price for the Duo, or repair pricing for the folding display. No Indian carrier or retailer has published a launch offer on the foldable.
Pre-orders open at 5:30 pm IST on Friday, October 16, with deliveries from Friday, October 23. If the cashback matters to your budget, confirm with your card issuer that your specific card qualifies before that evening, because Apple published these terms alongside the September 9 lineup and can change them without notice.
