The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max charge fastest on a cable: Apple’s tech specs rate both at up to 50 percent in around 15 minutes with a 60W USB-C adapter. The iPhone Duo takes about 20 minutes to reach the same point on the same adapter, according to Apple’s Duo specs. On wireless, all three are rated at 25W and 50 percent in about 30 minutes.
So the answer to the headline question is the two Pro models, by about five minutes on the wire and nothing at all on the pad. What makes the comparison more interesting is what a half charge is worth on each phone, because Apple’s battery ratings are very different. Wired: 15 minutes on the Pros, 20 on the Duo
Apple’s figures assume a 60W USB-C adapter, which is not in any of the three boxes. With one attached, the 18 Pro and Pro Max reach 50 percent in around 15 minutes and the Duo in about 20. Apple has not published battery capacities in milliamp-hours for any of the phones, so we cannot say whether the Duo is slower because its dual-cell battery is bigger or because it charges at a lower rate.
Apple’s press release adds one more data point for the Pro Max: five minutes on a cable gives about seven hours of video playback. That is consistent with the 15-minute figure. Half of the Pro Max’s 45-hour rating is 22.5 hours, and 22.5 hours divided by 15 minutes is 1.5 hours of playback per minute of charging; five minutes at that rate is 7.5 hours, close to Apple’s rounded seven.
What a half charge is worth on each phone
Charging speed only matters in terms of how much use it buys, and here the Pro Max pulls ahead. Half of 45 hours is 22.5 hours of video playback in 15 minutes. Half of the 18 Pro’s 36-hour rating is 18 hours in the same 15 minutes. Half of the Duo’s 44-hour outer-display rating is 22 hours, but it takes 20 minutes to get there; on the inner display, half of 31 hours is 15.5 hours.

- iPhone Duo, outer display: 22 hours per 20 minutes, or 1.1 hours per minute

Measured that way, a minute on a 60W charger buys the Pro Max the most playback, the Pro second, and the Duo third, with the gap widening if you plan to use the Duo’s 7.6-inch inner display. Apple’s Duo rating for mixed use assumes equal time on each display.
Wireless: a three-way tie at 25W
On MagSafe and Qi2 all three phones are rated at up to 25W, and all three reach 50 percent in about 30 minutes with a 35W adapter powering a MagSafe charger. The Duo’s press release also lists Qi-certified chargers at the same 30-minute figure. There is no wireless speed advantage to any model in Apple’s published numbers.
The practical difference is that a 35W adapter and a MagSafe charger get the Pros to 50 percent in twice the time of a 60W cable, 30 minutes against 15, while on the Duo the penalty is smaller, 30 minutes against 20. Neither adapter nor charger is included with any of the phones.
Which one to pick for charging
If you want the shortest time on a plug, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are tied at around 15 minutes to 50 percent, and the Pro Max turns that into the most hours of use. The Duo is about five minutes slower wired and equal wireless, with a lower per-minute return on the inner display.
