Apple’s official Season 2 episode page keeps the first clue deliberately brief. The premiere synopsis says Leighton “finds himself,” while the released images confirm Dayo Okeniyi’s return. Later episode reporting describes a group of Leighton variants coordinating across realities.
One Leighton is connected to the advanced world and organization that built the original Box. Published recaps report that he is using relationships with alternate versions of himself to create a council or support network. The stated idea is ambitious: knowledge from one reality can help another world respond to disease, disaster, or technological limits.
Another relevant Leighton exists in the quieter, less technologically advanced world chosen by the Dessen family. Episode reporting points to unusually rapid technological progress around that local Leighton, suggesting that information may be moving into the world from elsewhere. The series has not yet confirmed every step in that exchange or established whether both versions share the same priorities.
The plan may begin with helping alternate worlds, but it creates difficult questions. A small group with access to advanced science can transform economies and governments without public consent. It can also decide which realities deserve help and what kind of future counts as an improvement. Apple has not confirmed whether Leighton’s project becomes openly hostile, so it should not yet be described as a plan to conquer the multiverse.
