The iPhone 18 Pro costs $49.95 a month for 24 months, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max costs $54.12 a month over the same period. Those figures cover the 256GB starting configurations and add up to $1,198.80 and $1,298.88 respectively, essentially the $1,199 and $1,299 outright prices spread over two years.

The monthly number is simply the retail price divided by 24, with the fraction of a cent dropped. That is why the 24-month totals come in a few cents below the sticker prices.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro launched at $1,099 and the 17 Pro Max at $1,199, so a straight 24-way split of those prices would have been about $4.17 a month less per model. Apple has not published last year’s official monthly figures alongside the new ones.
What Apple has not published about monthly pricing
Apple’s release only gives monthly figures for the 256GB models. It does not list per-month or outright prices for the 512GB, 1TB or new 2TB tiers, so we cannot say what those cost on a plan.

Is the monthly plan cheaper than paying outright? Not by any meaningful amount. The 24 payments total a few cents less than the sticker price, so the choice comes down to whether you prefer to spread the cost, not whether one route saves money.
When you can start paying monthly
Pre-orders open Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. PT, and the phones ship Friday, September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions. Apple has not said whether the monthly option is offered in every launch country or only in the US.
