The minutes you can save when iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders open come from Apple’s own flow, not from typing quickly. Apple’s published description of Apple Store app pre-ordering says you can choose your model, accessories, carrier, payment method including pre-approval for financing, and trade-in option in advance, so that you are one click away when ordering opens.
What the app cannot do is make the four decisions that have numbers attached: size, capacity, how you pay, and what you do with the old phone. Settle those first and the rest is a tap. And note that 5 a.m. PT is only the American framing of a single global moment. Our launch rundown covers the phone; this is the preparation.
| Key fact | What Apple has published |

Apple’s own prep list, in order
- Pick the model. Our 6.3-inch against 6.9-inch comparison is the fork that costs $100 and roughly six hours of rated video playback.
- Pick the capacity, because it is the largest sum in the whole exercise. The gap from 256GB to 2TB is $1,200 on the Pro.
- Add the accessories you actually want on day one rather than browsing them at checkout.
- Choose the carrier and payment method, and get financing pre-approved rather than applying with a cart open.
- Attach the trade-in estimate before Saturday, not during it.
One caveat on that list. It comes from Apple’s description of the pre-order process it published for the previous iPhone launch, so treat it as guidance rather than a step list for September 12. Apple has not published a support article describing this year’s pre-order flow, and the screens may differ slightly.

The numbers to decide before Saturday
| Storage | iPhone 18 Pro, US | iPhone 18 Pro Max, US | iPhone 18 Pro, UK monthly at 0 percent over 30 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | $1,199 | $1,299 | £1,199, or £39.96 |
| 512GB | $1,399 | $1,499 | £1,399, or £46.63 |
| 1TB | $1,799 | $1,899 | £1,799, or £59.96 |
| 2TB | $2,399 | $2,499 | £2,399, or £79.96 |
The monthly figures are Apple’s own, not our estimates, and the UK plan runs over 30 months at 0 percent APR while the US instalment plan runs over 24. Paying monthly does not reduce the total. India shows a different structure again, with EMI from Rs 26,316 a month on the 256GB Pro. The full pricing breakdown has the rest.
The trade-in has a clock of its own
Apple’s published range is $175 to $885 towards an iPhone 18 Pro for an iPhone 13 or later in the US. The top of that range is for the newest device in flawless condition, so an ordinary two-year-old phone with a scuffed frame sits well below it. Apple states plainly that values vary by condition, year and configuration, and that not all devices are eligible for credit.
Two deadlines follow from that. Your estimate is valid for 14 days after you receive the new device, so the countdown starts at delivery rather than at pre-order. And before the old phone leaves your hands, back it up, turn off Find My and sign out of your Apple Account, which Apple sends as prep instructions with the confirmation email.
If you are weighing a carrier offer instead, the up to $1,200 that AT&T and T-Mobile advertise on Apple’s Store page is paid as monthly bill credits over 36 months on a qualifying plan, and the amount varies by plan tier and customer type. It is not money off the price on Saturday.
Your local clock, and when the prep window actually falls
Pre-orders open at one instant worldwide, so the evening before is a different evening depending on where you are. In the Americas it is Friday night. In Europe, the Gulf and Asia the preparation window is Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon, with ordering at 1 pm in the UK, 14:00 in Germany and France, 4 pm in the UAE, 5:30 pm in India, 8 pm in Singapore, 9 pm in Japan and 10 pm in Australia.
What Apple has not said
Apple has not published stock levels, delivery estimates, per-device trade-in values or an AppleCare+ price for iPhone 18 Pro, and it has not published a step list for this year’s pre-order flow. Nothing about pre-ordering guarantees a September 18 delivery, and Apple has made no such promise for any configuration.
Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. PT on Saturday, September 12, with availability from Friday, September 18. iOS 27 arrives free on Monday, September 14, so the phone you trade in can be updated before it goes. Our pre-order guide follows any change to those dates.
