The steps between tiers are the same on both phones. Going from 256GB to 512GB costs A$400 (A$2,099 to A$2,499 on the Pro). The jump from 512GB to 1TB costs A$800 (A$2,499 to A$3,299), and the jump from 1TB to 2TB costs A$1,200 (A$3,299 to A$4,499).
Put another way, the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro costs A$2,400 more than the 256GB model, which is more than the price of a second base iPhone 18 Pro. On the Pro Max the arithmetic is identical: A$2,299 plus A$400, plus A$800, plus A$1,200 gets you to A$4,699.
How much more the Pro Max costs in Australia
The Pro Max premium is a flat A$200 at every tier. A$2,299 minus A$2,099 is A$200 at 256GB, and A$4,699 minus A$4,499 is the same A$200 at 2TB. That is a smaller gap than the difference between any two storage tiers, so if you are deciding between a bigger phone and more storage, the bigger phone is the cheaper upgrade.
For that A$200 you get the 6.9-inch display instead of 6.3 inches, and Apple’s longer battery ratings: up to 45 hours of video playback on the Pro Max against 36 hours on the Pro, per Apple’s tech specs. Pre-order time and release date in Australia
Apple’s Australian Store page says pre-orders begin at 10:00 pm AEST on Saturday, September 12. That is the same moment as Apple’s 5 a.m. PT start in the US, converted to Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Apple’s Store page for Australia does not state a delivery date. Apple’s press release lists Australia among the first-wave countries where availability begins Friday, September 18, so that is the date to expect for in-store stock and first deliveries. A second group of 20 countries follows on September 25.

What Apple has not published for Australia
Apple’s Australian Store page shows no monthly instalment figure, no trade-in values per model and no AppleCare+ price for the iPhone 18 Pro, so we cannot list them. The page is in its pre-order-preparation mode, and those details usually appear once ordering opens.
