Apple’s Education Store lists iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199, which is exactly what everybody else pays. There is no student discount on any iPhone, and there never has been one at Apple.
What the Education Store does discount is Mac and iPad, and the Back to School gift card offer that stacks on top of that pricing expires on September 24, 2026. If a student needs both a laptop and a phone this autumn, the order of purchase matters more than the storefront.

The Education Store does carry the same AT&T and T-Mobile trade-in wording as the main store, and the same bundle of three free months of Apple services. Those are the only differences worth noting, and neither of them is a price cut. Our breakdown of the $100 increase covers how this generation got to $1,199.
What students do save on
Apple’s education pricing applies to Mac and iPad. Apple does not publish a single headline percentage on its consumer-facing education page, and the savings on record run roughly 5 to 10 percent, commonly $100 to $200 off a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac or Mac mini and up to $100 off selected iPads.
One worked example on record is the 11-inch iPad Air with M4 at $699 through the Education Store against $749 standard. Apple also publishes a formal institution price list as a PDF for schools and universities buying in volume, which is a separate route from the consumer education storefront.
Back to School expires on September 24
Apple’s 2026 Back to School promotion gives an Apple Gift Card with an eligible Mac or iPad purchase, and it stacks on top of education pricing. It opened on July 16, was originally set to end on August 27, and was extended to September 24.
- $150 Apple Gift Card with an eligible MacBook Pro.
- $100 Apple Gift Card with an eligible MacBook Air, iPad Pro or iPad Air.
- Not eligible: iPhone, iPad mini, the entry-level iPad, Mac mini and desktop Macs.
- Markets: the US, Canada, Mexico and several Asian markets.
The practical read for a student buying two devices this month is to buy the Mac or iPad before September 24 and take the gift card, then buy the phone whenever suits. Waiting to do both together costs the gift card and saves nothing on the iPhone.
How a student can actually pay less for an iPhone 18 Pro
Since the storefront does nothing, the routes down are the same ones open to everyone, and each has a catch.
- Apple Trade In. Apple’s own published range is $175 to $885 in credit for an iPhone 13 or later, applied instantly at purchase. The $885 ceiling needs an iPhone 17 Pro Max in flawless condition, and the values recorded for individual models fell on September 9.
- Apple Card Monthly Installments. Zero percent APR over 24 months, plus 3 percent Daily Cash, which is $35.97 on a $1,199 phone. Apple requires AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, and prepaid plans are not supported.
- Apple Upgrade. Apple’s Klarna-run lease starts at $34.99 a month for a 256GB iPhone 18 Pro over 24 months, but it is a lease rather than ownership and AppleCare is not included.
- Carrier credits. Apple’s footnotes list AT&T tiers of $350, $930 and $1,200 spread over 36 months of bill credits. AT&T has published no iPhone 18 Pro offer of its own, and Verizon has published nothing at all.
What has not been confirmed
Apple publishes no education discount percentage on its consumer education pages, no student price on any iPhone, and no indication that Back to School will be extended a second time. It has also not published per-device AppleCare+ prices for any product launched in September 2026, so a student comparing coverage has only AppleCare One at $19.99 a month to work from.
