iPhone Duo costs A$3,499 for the 256GB model in Australia and rises to A$5,899 for 2TB, according to Apple’s Store page for Australia. Pre-orders open at 10:00 pm AEST on Friday, 16 October, and the phone goes on sale on Friday, 23 October.

Apple iPhone Duo display sizes

That puts Apple’s first foldable A$1,200 above the A$2,299 iPhone 18 Pro Max and A$1,400 above the A$2,099 iPhone 18 Pro at every storage tier. Apple’s Australian page lists the four capacities and both colours, Star White and Night Sky, and references Afterpay for financing without giving a monthly figure.

iPhone Duo price in Australia by storage tier

Apple’s Store page for Australia lists four capacities with steps that grow at each rung. Going from 256GB to 2TB adds A$2,400, which is more than the A$2,099 starting price of an iPhone 18 Pro.

The ladder follows the same shape as the US, where Apple charges $1,999, $2,199, $2,599 and $3,199 for steps of $200, $400 and $600. In Australia every step is exactly twice the US dollar figure in local currency, and the total spread doubles to A$2,400.

Storage is the only option that changes the price. Both colours cost the same, and every tier has the same A20 Pro chip, 7.6-inch inner display, 5.4-inch outer display and 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, per Apple’s tech specs.

How the Australian price compares with iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Apple’s Australian Store pages make the fold premium easy to read: iPhone Duo is A$1,200 more than iPhone 18 Pro Max and A$1,400 more than iPhone 18 Pro at every capacity.

StorageiPhone 18 ProiPhone 18 Pro MaxiPhone DuoDuo premium over Pro Max
256GBA$2,099A$2,299A$3,499A$1,200
512GBA$2,499A$2,699A$3,899A$1,200
1TBA$3,299A$3,499A$4,699A$1,200
2TBA$4,499A$4,699A$5,899A$1,200

In the US the equivalent gap is $700. Apple has not published how it sets prices in each country, so the figures above are simply what each Store page lists; our iPhone 18 Pro Australia price page has the September phones in detail.

What the A$1,200 buys, per Apple’s product page and press release: a 7.6-inch inner display Apple calls the largest of any iPhone, a 5.4-inch outer display, a Grade 5 titanium frame with a 3D-printed titanium hinge cover, Touch ID in the side button and a dual battery rated for up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display. What it gives up against the Pro Max: the 4x tetraprism telephoto, the variable-aperture main camera and Face ID. Our iPhone Duo vs iPhone 18 Pro Max comparison covers every line of the spec sheet.

Financing in Australia

Apple’s Store page for Australia references Afterpay for iPhone Duo but shows no per-tier monthly figure. That matches the Australian page for iPhone 18 Pro, which also lists prices without a monthly breakdown.

The only per-model monthly figures Apple has published anywhere are for the US and UK: $83.29 per month for 24 months and an Apple Upgrade lease from $57.99 per month in Apple’s US press release, and Ā£66.63 per month at 0 percent APR over 30 months on Apple’s UK Store page. Apple has not published an Australian equivalent.

Pre-order time and launch date in Australia

Apple’s Store page for Australia gives the pre-order start as 10:00 pm AEST on Friday, 16 October. That lines up with the 5 a.m. PT start Apple uses in the US, so Australian buyers order on Friday night rather than early morning.

Apple’s press release names Australia among the more than 70 countries and regions where iPhone Duo is available on Friday, 23 October, one week after pre-orders open. A further 28 countries and regions follow on Friday, 30 October. Orders go through apple.com/au, the Apple Store app, Apple Store locations, select carriers and partner stores.

iPhone Duo is eSIM only worldwide, with dual eSIM, two active lines and storage for eight or more. It ships with iOS 27.1 rather than iOS 27, and Apple’s press release says Apple Pencil (USB-C) support on both displays arrives later in 2026. Our iPhone Duo release date guide has the full October timeline.
