iPhone Duo costs ¥364,800 for the 256GB model in Japan and ¥574,800 for 2TB, according to Apple’s Store page for Japan. Pre-orders open at 9:00 pm JST on Friday, 16 October, and the phone is available on Friday, 23 October.
That is ¥125,000 more than the ¥239,800 iPhone 18 Pro Max and ¥145,000 more than the ¥219,800 iPhone 18 Pro, and the gap is the same at every storage tier. Apple’s Japanese page lists the four capacities and both colours, Star White and Night Sky, and mentions Paidy for payment plans without a standalone monthly figure.

iPhone Duo price in Japan by storage tier
Apple’s Store page for Japan lists four capacities, with steps that grow at each rung: ¥35,000, then ¥70,000, then ¥105,000. The climb from 256GB to 2TB adds ¥210,000.

| Storage | Price in Japan | Step up from previous tier |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | ¥364,800 | Base |
| 512GB | ¥399,800 | +¥35,000 |
| 1TB | ¥469,800 | +¥70,000 |
| 2TB | ¥574,800 | +¥105,000 |
The ladder has the same shape as the US, where Apple charges $1,999, $2,199, $2,599 and $3,199 with steps of $200, $400 and $600. The Japanese steps follow the same one, two, three proportion: ¥35,000, then twice that, then three times that.
Storage is the only choice that changes the price. Both colours cost the same, and every tier has the same A20 Pro chip, 7.6-inch inner display, 5.4-inch outer display and 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, per Apple’s tech specs.
How the Japanese price compares with iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
Apple’s Store page for Japan prices all three new iPhones with fixed gaps: iPhone Duo is ¥125,000 above iPhone 18 Pro Max and ¥145,000 above iPhone 18 Pro at every capacity.
| Storage | iPhone 18 Pro | iPhone 18 Pro Max | iPhone Duo | Duo premium over Pro Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | ¥219,800 | ¥239,800 | ¥364,800 | ¥125,000 |
| 512GB | ¥254,800 | ¥274,800 | ¥399,800 | ¥125,000 |
| 1TB | ¥324,800 | ¥344,800 | ¥469,800 | ¥125,000 |
| 2TB | ¥429,800 | ¥449,800 | ¥574,800 | ¥125,000 |
In the US the equivalent gap is $700. Apple has not published how it sets prices in each country, so the figures above are what each Store page lists; our iPhone 18 Pro Japan price page has the September phones in detail.
What the ¥125,000 buys, per Apple’s product page and press release: a 7.6-inch inner display Apple says is 50 percent larger than the Pro Max screen, a 5.4-inch outer display, a Grade 5 titanium frame with a mirror-polished finish, Touch ID in the side button and a dual battery rated for up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display. What it gives up: the Pro Max’s 4x tetraprism telephoto, the variable-aperture main camera and Face ID. Our iPhone Duo vs iPhone 18 Pro Max comparison covers the full spec sheet.
Financing in Japan
Apple’s Store page for Japan mentions a Paidy plan for iPhone Duo but shows no monthly figure for any tier. The Japanese page for iPhone 18 Pro does the same.
The only per-model monthly figures Apple has published are in the US, where the press release quotes $83.29 per month for 24 months and an Apple Upgrade lease from $57.99 per month, and in the UK, where the Store page shows £66.63 per month at 0 percent APR over 30 months. Apple has not published a yen equivalent.
Pre-order time and launch date in Japan
Apple’s Store page for Japan gives the pre-order start as 9:00 pm JST on Friday, 16 October. That is the same moment as the 5 a.m. PT start in the US, and it mirrors the 9:00 pm JST start Apple set for iPhone 18 Pro on 12 September.
Apple’s press release names Japan among the more than 70 countries and regions where iPhone Duo is available on Friday, 23 October, with 28 more countries and regions following on Friday, 30 October. Orders go through apple.com/jp, the Apple Store app, Apple Store locations, select carriers and partner stores.
iPhone Duo is eSIM only in every country, with dual eSIM, two active lines and storage for eight or more. Japan was already on Apple’s eSIM-only list for iPhone 18 Pro, so buyers moving from a recent Japanese-market iPhone will find the same arrangement. The phone ships with iOS 27.1, and Apple says Japanese is among the Siri AI languages that follow the English beta in October. Our iPhone Duo release date guide has the full October timeline.
