iPhone Duo costs $700 more than iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US, and Apple’s Store pages show the gap is a flat amount in every country at every storage tier: £700 in the UK, €700 in Germany, €710 in France, ¥125,000 in Japan, ₹1,20,000 in India, C$1,100 in Canada, A$1,200 in Australia, S$1,000 in Singapore and AED 3,000 in the UAE. Relative to the Pro Max’s starting price, the premium is smallest in Germany and France at about 44 percent and largest in India at about 67 percent.
The two phones share the A20 Pro, the 48MP Fusion Main and Ultra Wide cameras and a 3000-nit ProMotion display, so the gap is buying the fold, the 7.6-inch inner screen and the titanium body, and giving up the telephoto and Face ID. The US and UK sit together at 54 percent because Apple prices both phones with identical digits in dollars and pounds. The euro markets are the mildest because the Pro Max already carries a higher local figure there, and France’s €40-per-tier premium over Germany applies to both phones, so the gap only widens by €10.
The gap does not change with storage
Whichever tier you pick, the Duo premium is the same number in a given country. Apple prices the storage steps identically for both phones: $200, $400 and $600 in the US, £200, £400 and £600 in the UK, €250, €500 and €750 in Germany and France, and so on. The top of the range therefore keeps the same distance.

Because the gap is fixed while the base price climbs, the premium shrinks in percentage terms as you go up the range. In the US it falls from 54 percent at 256GB to 28 percent at 2TB, where $3,199 stands against $2,499.
The monthly gap where Apple publishes one
Three Store pages print per-model monthly figures for both phones. In the US, Apple’s press releases quote $83.29 a month for iPhone Duo and $54.12 for iPhone 18 Pro Max, both over 24 months, a difference of $29.17 a month. In the UK, over 30 months at 0 percent APR, it is £66.63 against £43.30, or £23.33 a month. In India, EMI starts at ₹48,817 a month for the Duo and ₹28,817 for the Pro Max, ₹20,000 apart. Apple’s $100 step from Pro to Pro Max looks small next to any of those.
What the money buys and what it gives up
Apple’s tech specs show what the flat premium changes. The Duo’s inner display is 7.6 inches, which Apple says is 50 percent larger than the Pro Max’s 6.9-inch panel, and its 5.4-inch outer display has more than 90 percent of the iPhone 18 Pro’s screen area. The frame is Grade 5 titanium rather than aluminum, and the phone weighs 254 g to the Pro Max’s 249 g.
On the other side, the Duo has no telephoto lens, offering 2x optical-quality zoom where the Pro Max reaches 8x optical-quality, it uses Touch ID in the side button rather than Face ID, and it is eSIM-only everywhere rather than in 12 countries. Apple rates the Pro Max at up to 30 hours of typical use and 45 hours of video playback; the Duo’s ratings are up to 24 hours typical, 44 hours of video on the outer display and 31 on the inner.
