The teenage girl at the center of Ian Ridley’s call in Last Seen is connected to Sarah Reid, played by Chloe Jean Lourdes, but Apple has not officially confirmed that Sarah is Maggie. Ian believes the caller could be the daughter who disappeared 11 years earlier, turning one emergency call into a deeply personal investigation.
Episode 2 strengthens Ian’s belief by connecting Sarah with details from Maggie’s childhood. Even so, the series keeps a gap between what Ian believes and what has been independently proved, which remains the most important part of the mystery.

Apple’s official description says Ian receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is certain is Maggie. It does not use Sarah’s name in that summary, but the Apple TV cast page identifies Lourdes as Sarah Reid and places her within the family played by Brendan Cowell and Maxine Peake.
Published Episode 2 reporting says Sarah finds part of a flyer about Maggie and recalls carving “Mags” into a log. “Mags” was Ian’s nickname for his daughter, making the memory difficult for him to dismiss. The clues do not yet answer how Sarah came to live with Henry and Jenna, what she remembers about her earliest years or whether someone coached her. The show has not revealed a DNA test or another conclusive identification, so describing Sarah as definitely being Maggie would move ahead of the evidence.
Episode 3 will test the call
The next episode is titled “The Lie” and arrives September 16, 2026. Apple says a closer examination of the call will turn Ian’s world inside out, which suggests that investigators may find something unexpected in the recording or its origin.

The adaptation’s source is Ryan David Jahn’s The Dispatcher, but Apple has changed central details, including Ian’s surname, the length of the disappearance and the setting. The novel’s premise can provide context, although it cannot prove how the television version will answer Sarah’s identity question.
