Nothing in that announcement promises a second season. Apple has not published a renewal, production timetable, returning cast list or release window. Any claim that Season 2 is already planned would therefore go beyond the available information.

Could the story continue beyond Season 1?

Apple is likely to wait until more episodes have streamed before saying anything about the show’s future. The company could renew it as an ongoing drama, develop a new mystery around Ian, or leave it as a one-season adaptation. None of those options is confirmed.
