Across everything Apple has published for iOS 27, CarPlay is mentioned once and Home gets four features. That is the entire record for two of the most-used parts of the system, and this is an inventory of the questions it leaves open.
The published set is small enough to print in full: one sentence for CarPlay on Apple’s Siri page, four Home items on Apple’s iOS 27 page, and one requirement line. The update ships Monday, September 14. Everything after that is not published, which is not the same thing as ruled out.

CarPlay: the questions with no published answer
- Whether Siri AI, the new assistant, runs in CarPlay at launch, later, or in reduced form
- Any CarPlay interface change, new app category or new vehicle capability in iOS 27
- Whether wired and wireless CarPlay behave differently under the update
- Which vehicles see anything new, beyond the standing note that support varies by manufacturer and model
- Whether the EU exclusion on Siri AI on iOS changes what appears on a car screen there
- Any CarPlay date, staged rollout or region list separate from the September 14 release
This is the point where a gap gets filled with someone else’s guess, so it is worth being blunt: no figure or feature belongs in a CarPlay article this month unless Apple published it. The September 9 event added nothing on CarPlay at all.

Home: the questions with no published answer
- Which cameras support 4K streaming and recording
- Whether existing cameras gain 4K, and through whose update
- Which notification types get combined, and how a combined alert is worded
- Any accuracy claim for the video descriptions or the clip search
- Which iCloud+ tier is sufficient, and how 4K affects storage or retention
- Whether the Home camera features are available in the EU and China on the same terms
- Any support document with actual steps, for any of the four features
The hub question that runs through both
One of the three hubs Apple names for these Home features is Apple TV 4K, and Apple has published less about that box’s software than about any other platform this year. There is no tvOS 27 release date on any Apple page, and Apple’s tvOS address redirects to a general TV and Home page with no version content.

Apple issued a tvOS 27 release candidate to developers on September 9, the same day as the others, which is why a September 14 arrival looks likely. Likely is not confirmed, and the keynote did not give the box a date.
What Apple has not said
The pattern across both areas is identical. Apple published feature names, a requirement line and a release date, and published no lists, no device compatibility tables and no support steps. Every specific question a reader has about CarPlay or Home cameras this month lands in that gap.
iOS 27 is free from Monday, September 14 for iPhone 11 and later, plus iPhone SE (2nd generation and later), and iPhone 18 Pro ships with it on Friday, September 18. If Apple fills any of these gaps, the most likely place is its own Home and CarPlay pages once the update is out.
