Okay, I’m going to give it a shot at creating a chain.

Here’s the rules.  I give you a word and you have to manipulate it.
Here’s how
1) Add one letter
2) Subtract one letter
or
3) Change one letter

So if I give you ping
you could give me
pings pin or pang

And now for the word:

word

PS:  Because there seems to be some confusion, I’ll just make another note.
1) You may rearrange the letters of the word, but make sure you change, add, or subtract a letter as well!
2) Because this is a chain, you have to manipulate the word directly above your post.  So if you post after x136, you would edit x136’s word not the original one.
