NetApplications yesterday released the January survey of internet users. As usual, I follow the share of internet users who have Mac OS (various flavours) installed on their computer.
In January use of Mac OS’s had a slight uptick to 5.13% breaking the downward trend from the October peak of 5.27%. Overall Apple OSs (Mac+iPhone+iPod) instead have regained the November high of 5.71%.Signature

What is amazing is that the market is so big that Apple can make small strides but still grow by 30%. 8-)

Another company Quantcast tracking web usage statistics creating a slightly different metric . Couple charts I found interesting.
It is obvious from the first to charts that Windows is the dominate OS even more so outside the US, but Apple has plenty of room to grow and Windows has nowhere to go but down.
Apple?s gain in share from 10.2% in December ?09 to 10.9% in January ?10 reflects a +7.0% increase in Apple?s relative share in the past month.
