Well that relief rally didn’t last long. One hour in and the FTSE-100 is red. Spanish yields close to 7% again.

Rob, thanks for posting! I was wondering what was happening on the other side of the pond….

We bottomed around this time last year… Let’s see if we can close above 579… That’s the daily SMA-50…
We’re only 25-ish points from 600, and there’s a gap up there we need to fill. :D
I remember 310 on the day of the Summer Solstice…...
A wee bit of irony that this year’s Summer Solstice (Wednesday) coincides with the day Big Ben takes center stage…

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!

It’s too early in the morning to yell like that, might wake someone up.

I’m up late reading a mind-bending Elliott Wave book, and I just now came across an alternate name for Evil Overlords that cracked me up: Gnomes of Zurich. :D
That is good. Although the Zurich reference could be lost depending on the audience. For a slight variation we could go, “Evil Gnomes” or “Gnome Overlords” or possiblly The Gnome Council” (to represent the 5 top investment banking firms). Just this second I thought of, “Gnome Syndicate” which I am warming to. For something more dramatic, “The Syndicate of Gnomes”

Apple to become the most profitable company and deserves a $1,111 price target—per Brian White of Topeka

A Microsoft and Barnes and Noble duet makes sense. The Kindle is a lackluster product and there’s always room for another one of those.
Lord knows Mr. Softie needs something else to sell in its retail store. Plan B is to sell toilet paper there.http://www.bgr.com/2012/06/18/microsoft-xbox-tablet-barnes-noble-streaming/

What is all this iPad mini talk? I have read that now in three or four places but don’t believe it..

It is noise to me at this point, in terms of my investing decisions.

It is entertaining to compare the numbers of customers and staff in the Apple and Microsoft stores at Seattle’s University Village. On the two occasions I did that, the Apple store had roughly ten times as many customers and staff. Perhaps Microsoft would do better selling Plan B, if it is not against their corporate religion to do so.

GREAT day so far. If we close at 582 what say you, iPad?
-
Nice to see the 580s again, even if I seem to be the only one here…
