Apple Watch Series 12 measures heart rate every five seconds and HRV as often as every five minutes, and Apple still rates it at up to 24 hours of normal use and up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Those are the same battery figures Apple publishes for Series 11. Series 12 keeps the…

One Wireless Charger for iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5 and Apple Watch? What Apple's 25W Ceiling Allows
One wireless charger cannot cover the three products Apple launched this month. The iPhone 18 Pro takes MagSafe or Qi2 at up to 25W either way, the $149 AirPods 5 case charges on Qi-certified chargers and Apple Watch chargers but is not listed for MagSafe, the $129 AirPods 5 has no wireless charging at all,…
Apple Watch Ultra 4 vs Series 12 for Swimming and Diving: 100 m, 40 m Depth and What 50 m Covers
Both new Apple Watches swim. Apple rates Series 12 at 50 meters with a depth gauge that stops at 6 meters, and Ultra 4 at 100 meters with recreational scuba certification to 40 meters, and that single difference is what separates a $399 watch from a $799 one in the water. The Ocean Band in…

iOS 27 Hardware Gates: Every Feature That Needs a Device You May Not Own
Apple Intelligence is the iOS 27 gate everybody knows about, and it is not the only one. Once you read the footnotes on Apple’s pages, iOS 27 splits the iPhone line into three tiers, then adds separate requirements for a home hub, particular AirPods, an Apple Watch Series 12 and, in one case, a specific…
Buying Apple's 2026 Devices for a Child: Every Age Limit and Setup Rule Apple Published
If you are buying any of Apple’s 2026 products for a child, the decisions are made for you by a set of age limits Apple published in footnotes rather than on stage. Siri AI is not available to users under 13, the ECG app is intended for people 22 and over, sleep apnea notifications are…
Apple Watch Series 12 Band Fit: What Apple Publishes for 42mm, 46mm and the Bigger Ceramic Case
Apple Watch Series 12 comes in two size classes, 42mm and 46mm, and Apple sells its bands under those same two labels. The catch this year is ceramic: Apple’s specifications list the ceramic case as 43mm and 47mm tall, a millimetre more than the aluminium and titanium cases in the same class, and it is…
Does the Apple Watch Series 12 Measure Blood Pressure? No, and Here Is What It Does Instead
No. The Apple Watch Series 12 does not measure blood pressure, and Apple has never said it does. There is no cuff, no systolic or diastolic reading, and no blood pressure sensor anywhere on the sensor list Apple publishes for the watch. The Readiness score is one of the features fed by the more frequent…
Apple Watch by Activity: The Right Pick for Swimmers, Hikers, Runners and Desk Workers
Apple now sells exactly three watches, and what you do with your day picks between them faster than any spec sheet will. Swimmers, day hikers and desk workers can stop at the $399 Apple Watch Series 12; only long-distance runners, divers and people who go off grid can point at an Apple number that justifies…
Apple Watch Sleep Tracking in watchOS 27: Every Confirmed Change for Series 12 and Ultra 4
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 both list a sleep score and sleep apnea notifications, and both add an overnight vitals view that compares Recovery HRV with your personal baseline. What is easy to miss is where those changes live: Apple’s own watchOS 27 feature list does not name a single sleep…
Apple Watch Recovery HRV vs Overall HRV: What Apple Says Separates the Two
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 measure heart rate variability every five minutes, and Apple reports the result in two named forms: Recovery HRV, which it ties to daily stress and recovery, and overall HRV. The difference is not the sensor. It is what each number is measured against. Heart health insights…
Apple Watch Readiness Inputs: What Activity, Training Load, Vitals and Sleep Each Demand From You
Readiness on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 is a single daily number from 0 to 10, and Apple says it is built from four inputs: recent activity, training load, vitals and sleep. Two of those four are gathered while you are asleep, which makes overnight wear the part of the routine…
Wellness Feature or Medical Device? How Apple Labels Every New Health Feature for 2026
Apple draws a line through its 2026 health features, and it is the thing readers most often get wrong: the new ones are wellness features. Apple has claimed no regulatory clearance for anything it announced on September 9, and where it has written a label at all, the label says wellness. Readiness, a wellness score…
Apple's Movement Evaluations Record No Video: What Apple Published About the iPhone Camera Test
Apple says its new movement evaluations use the iPhone camera to assess flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max, and that the whole process runs entirely on device with no video recorded, stored or shared. That last part is the specific published claim, and it is the one worth reading closely. The redesigned Health…

Apple says the audio behind the new listening features on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 is handled inside a Secure Exclave, which it describes as a dedicated hardware-isolated compartment on the S11 chip, and that no audio recordings are stored. Live Rewind returns the last 15 seconds of a conversation as…
Apple Watch Series 12 Sound Recognition and Live Rewind: The Two Features That Need the New Watch
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 add Audio Intelligence, and two parts of it matter if you are deaf or hard of hearing: Sound Recognition alerts for sirens, alarms, doorbells and baby cries, and Live Rewind, which shows the previous 15 seconds of a conversation as text when you double-press the Digital…
The watchOS 27 Features Locked to the S11 Chip: What an Older Apple Watch Cannot Get
Four of the features Apple showed on September 9 never reach an older Apple Watch, no matter which version of watchOS it runs. Apple’s own support document limits Sound Recognition, Music Recognition with Shazam, Live Rewind and Siri Recap to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, the two models built around…

Everything else has gone, including last year’s Series 11 and Ultra 3, whose store pages no longer resolve on apple.com. Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 and is…
Apple Watch Series 12 Bands: Apple Has Priced None of Them, and Where the Money Actually Goes

There is no published band price list, and no published price for…

Apple Watch Ultra 4 at $799: Every Published Way to Pay Less, and Why Best Buy's $325 Is Not One of Them
No retailer has published a discount on Apple Watch Ultra 4. The one confirmed launch promotion in this category is Best Buy’s, and its listing applies it to Apple Watch Series 12 pre-orders, not Ultra 4: up to $325 off with an eligible Apple Watch trade-in, expiring 9/18/2026. Amazon lists Ultra 4 at $799 with…
